Mindfulness and the Military

We Teach Resilience, Increase Balance, and Endurance.

  • Why Teach Yoga to the Military?

The core of our mission is to bring the tools of mindfulness to the military community to support their resilience, increase balance, and endurance. (It’s in our name!)

Within our trainings, we explore these topics deeply and we provide the research that support these ideas.

    Here’s a quick peek:

    ENDURANCE

    ● Provide well-rounded physical training that provides flexibility, mobility as well as strength, for the physical demands as a service member. Yoga has also been found to reduce chronic pain.

    ● Through mindfulness and meditation practices, focus is increased and anxiety and depression is reduced.

    BALANCE

    ● Breath awareness and concentration decreases stress/anxiety

    ● Learn to integrate practices into the busy schedule of a military member

    RESILIENCE

    ● Meditation practices like yoga nidra help decrease symptoms of PTSD and associated triggers.

    ● The philosophy of yoga teaches us how to navigate between various roles of “warrior” and “citizen”, practicing the transition between hyper-vigilance and a calm and present state.

  • How Does TRIBE Bring Yoga to the Military Community?

How Does TRIBE Bring Yoga to the Military Community?

Mirroring other physical fitness programs within the military (such as the Master Fitness Trainer program), we use a train-the-trainer model.

Many of our graduates work with other non-profit organizations or local gyms to teach. Others work with military spouse groups and veteran service organizations.

We stay in contact with our graduates (many who are currently serving or work directly with military members) to learn what current military regulations are and how our methods are being received, so we continually adapt to meet the needs of our audience.

  • How can I bring a TRIBE Teacher to my Organization?

We have teachers across the country and around the world! Is your unit hosting a health fair? Or, would you like to incorporate yoga at the unit-level to support your physical fitness program?

Find out if we have a teacher close to you by emailing us your information.
